Onward Medical Supply is a durable medical equipment (DME) company that billed Medicare for power wheelchairs and orthodics that were not needed by Medicare beneficiaries. Dr. Howard Grant provided the prescriptions while fully aware of the fraudulent acts and asked for $10,000 to keep quiet. Clinton Lee and Obisike Nwankwo worked as delivery drivers for the company. According to the DoJ, Lee admitted to a government agent that he knew the DME business was “going to the government trough” and he did not mind working because he hoped to open his own DME business. The doctor and delivery drivers face prison and fines up to $250,000.
